I love the camera so I have decided to pay but will take it up in writing with Canon when I get it back. I did everything up to the tapping step, which worked, however, when the lens finally opened I had no picture, it was just white. Thanks so much for this blog! This person had a similar lens error to yours and fixed it by grabbing and holding onto the lens barrel as it was attempting to reclose.
