I will see if I can get a replacment for the drive from Dell.The problem still is that chkdsk is not doing what is sappose to do. I did that and then the system restore and it was fine. go get all windows updates do not install anything else until windows is full patched. While you can use a OEM Install Disc from M$ it will not have the necessary drivers or Factory Supplied Software. If I just run chkdsk /f it just reports back on the dos partition. This had happened once before but chkdsk did not find any problems, not so this time. Won't startup properly! CLICK HERE To download the free tool and cure this error now.
Now my PC is much faster and more importantly I have stopped seeing this error! Frankly I want those files backed up too. If it still fails the drive is Dead and in Silicon Heaven. I then tried to do the same backup on the external drive I had been using with the same results, after running for over an hour it would hang.
