So get the stuff that is really important to you off the disk first then worry about making recovery disks afterwards. You mentioned that you tried to format the drive and couldn't. You may be able to get some files, but probably not many short of sending the drive to a professional recovery service. i run the Diagnostics option in the start it is showing the following error DST short test_Hard drive_fail Msg:Disk_block 624629088.
