Error lies with the sheet feed unit, Purge unit or Logic board. I've tried moving the white assembly and moving the print head back and forth. Just want to add that after I turned my printer back on, the printer took several minutes to reposition itself and I could hear something moving every few seconds. Keep on posting.

I just pushed it toward the back of the printer and cleaned underneath it....LOTS of ink.

The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests". The error code said to refer to the manual which was ZERO help - your posting solved the problem for me. There was no need for disassembly or using the tools. this contact form Used the printer for about 3 weeks and had a different problem (I forget the error code). This to stop smudging etc caused by wet ink. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90\% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. I see a lot of people bashing Canon, but as long as it's under warranty, they replace it quickly. Even tried pushing the wiper back and forth many times to free it up, but it keeps getting stuck with the sponge holder and giving the A600 errror code. now.Big thanks to you briceg and to BAB! - mdlc 3 I don't get a numeric code, just "paper jammed -- clear paper jam and press OK"I have pressed OK. Anyway thanks to this forum I'm back up and running again after a simple fix.
