At this point I order a new Dell cartridge rather than a refilled. If you are lucky, you will be able to refill 2 or 3 times before it won't work anymore. i tried changing the tops between both and it STILL don't work >,>;; yet the empty one works. You need to observe if these new carts are incompetent around their heads.

I returned both the new cartridges to Staples -- they resisted refunding me because the packages were open but I convinced them the cartridges were defective (which they were). I bought a Lexmark 83 Color cartridge, snapped the top off of it and swapped it with the top off the Dell Y745 cartridge, but I still got the 50C error. So it seems that the colour ink cartridge is defective!?! I even sent Dell the Staples cartridge lol...
