I tried to replace the old fan with the new one tonight. This leaves the pins in place without any type of plastic shroud at all. Or more importantly, how I can fix it? In this case, you will continue to receive the "Alert! check over here

I plugged the pc in while open and watched the small fan in the enclosed metal box spin and the large "dc brushless fan" didn't spin at all. It works fine, I put in a quieter one and started the computer with it disconnected. I bought a new fan which is an exact duplicate of the original factory-installed fan. The help you have been given is free. I spent a good hour or more on-line looking for a solution, but none of them worked.
I downloaded Ad-Aware SE Personal edition and ran it with latest definitions. This will disable CPU fan speed sensing so the system will no longer warn of a fan failure and no longer display the "Alert! At the very least, how can I access all those old files to save them?
