I've observed that USB controllers that contend strongly with other hardware can produce this error. Uninstall them, reboot your computer, make sure everything is fixed, then you can reinstall. Please, Anyone can help?? The drive reappears after i reboot. Just very frustrating to potentially have to reformat again. Mac users should run *Disk Utility / Repair Disk* for the equivalent process.
