Turn the power off (unplug it)and open up the unit to expose the printer ink cartridge holders. There was no need for disassembly or using the tools. How to restore the ink level monitors in HP design... what an idiot!....well luckily I fired the printer back up again before detaching anything and everything is fine (for now!)Don't suppose this post will really help any one else' same situation
