I wanted to share my experience with others as I know I am not the only one to have to deal with this lens error problem. There are other techniques listed from readers there that just might work for your situation. Then I restarted the camera and it worked properly. The only difference between the issues of both cameras is that with the older camera, I DID accidentally bang it on something at the zoo while the lense was open.
