I've tried all of the methods. If the AV cable doesn't fix the lens error by itself, consider keeping this cable installed while trying fixes 4, 5, and 7 as a means to provide extra power to I mean, a loud zoom motor, or a �100 repair bill? I have a Canon Powershot A560, whose lens wouldn't even BEGIN to open, and it reported "Lens error, restart camera".

many people seem to solve the problem by simply giving the camera a good solid whack on a hard surface or blowing compressed air on it.
